The founders story
Ambrae was born in Amsterdam as the bold result of a quest for reliable all natural skincare.
After 15 years of struggling with skin problems such as severe acne and dysbiosis, spending thousands of euro’s on products and dermatologist appointments, I reached a dead end. My diet was healthy and my cabinet full of products claiming to be organic and hypoallergenic. Yet, my skin wasn’t showing any results. So I decided to dive deep in the commercial maze of the beauty industry.
In 2020 I learned an unexpected truth. Alongside the commercial brands that fill their beauty products up with toxic chemicals, there are many, many beauty brands that use sensitizing (synthetic) natural ingredients so they can state to sell ‘clean’ skincare. This blew me away. I was spending all this money and hope on stuff derived from nature, but still disrupting my skin's microbiome. But it made sense.
Although nature provides us with many wonderful things, it can also be harsh and dangerous. This applies also to the substances we use on our skin: natural doesn’t always equal as safe.
After this realization I became determined to take back control and create what I was missing: organic formulas which restore the skin with honesty.
The outlines for Ambrae were easily made; plant-derived skincare with effective ingredients of the highest quality, without unnecessary additives. I wrote the formulas myself and worked with a pioneer green chemist for the clinical trials. The result is exactly what skin needs.
